ihi BUPA Travel Medical Insurance - Single & Multi-Trip Plans

This plan provides travel medical and evacuation insurance for people traveling outside their country of residence who require a travel plan with some of the best hazardous sports coverage. ihi BUPA also has great rates for people aged 55 to 79 compared to most American plans that are offered. This is great for people engaging in high risk sporting and traveling - such as climbing Everest or engaging in professional or amateur organizes sports. The ihi BUPA plan has great passive war and terrorism coverage (see plan terms/conditions), but a 300% rating applies to people traveling to Iraq or Afghanistan - note that a premium loading applies - contact us for more details.

The travel insurance covers you no matter where in the world you go as long as you are traveling outside your country of residence as defined in policy. And no matter what you are doing during your travels - be it work, holiday or sports. It provides single trip coverage on travels abroad from one day up to 12 months. An annual multi-trip plan for multiple trips up to 1 month in length is also available.

The ihi BUPA travel insurance will not cover expeditions, mountaineering and trekking in Antarctica, the North Pole and Greenland anymore.  Also, the plan no longer covers anything related to:

active participation in any motorsport show, motorsport race or motorsport competition, base jumping, paragliding and mountaineering that requires specialized climbing equipment.

The plan is not available to residents of Canada or Florida.

Please note that when the insurance is taken out after the insured has left the country of permanent residence, there is a waiting period of 3 days before the insurance takes effect. In the event of serious injury in connection with an accident, the right to compensation shall, however, take effect concurrently with the date of commencement of the insurance.

The ihi BUPA plan only covers you when you travel OUTSIDE your country of residence as defined in policy brochure. Plan does not cover inter-state travel or travel inside your country of residence.

Please be informed that ihi BUPA only provides cover in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN if the risk has been pre-approved by ihi BUPA. You are therefore under an obligation to notify ihi BUPA and our firm if you plan to travel to or stay in these countries. Cover will be provided at a premium loading only.

NOTE: The Travel insurance covers all hazardous sports except motor-cross and motor racing. It is not rescue insurance if you are NOT injured or sick.
